The Indo-Bangla Manipur Cultural Festival 2018 began yesterday at the Manipur Cultural Complex, Tetaigaon, Adampurbazar, Moulvi Bazar, Bangladesh.
The festival which aimed at building Indo-Bangla cultural relationship and enhancing the cultural identity of Manipur is being organised by Manipuri Cultural Complex, Bangladesh.
The three days festival was inaugurated by MA Manan MP, Ministry of Finance, Government of People's Republic of Bangladesh at the ground of the Manipuri Cultural Complex.
Speaking on the inaugural ceremony, Thoudam Nilchand Singh, member of Manipur Cultural Complex, Bangladesh, said that the complex has a museum dedicated to the relics related to Manipuri culture.
Stating that the complex has been teaching various forms of art like Pung, folk songs related to Manipuri culture, he called for all possible assistance from both Manipur Government and the Bangladesh Government to further develop the complex and increase its potential.
30 delegates of the Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur is representing India in the festival.
Patron member of Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur and founder of Zenith Academy Imphal Dr S Manaoton Singh who is attending the festival said that festival will bring the two country closer.
The festival will showcase the rich cultural heritage of Manipur, he said.
Shashikumar Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Railways, Government of People's Republic of Bangladesh, speaking at the event, lauded the Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur for its contribution in the successful conduction of the festival.
The festival will certainly bring Bangladesh and India closer, he said.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the festival, chief guest of the event MA Manan MP assured that he will extend all possible help to develop the Manipuri Cultural Complex further.
