The All Manipur PHED Workers & Employees' Association (AMPHEDWEA) has urged the State Government to regularise all work-charged employees of the Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) under a certain policy.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club today, AMPHEDWEA president Sapam Samungou said that they have been urging the Government to regularise all employees of PHED as the department is established under Manipur Essential Service Maintenance Act 1984.Further appealing the Government to formulate a policy to regularise work-charged, casual and muster roll employees of PHED and give the benefits of being a regular employee such as die-in-harness and CPF account facility before actual regularisation, Samungou added that the benefits of die-in-harness given to the work-charged employees were lifted in 1986 .
He also stated that there still are work-charged, casual and muster roll employees who are yet to be regularised at PHED while many others who have retired from the service are not entitled to pension scheme.
