Anti-Terrorism Day observed

Imphal, May 19 2017:
Anti-Terrorism Day was
observed at HQ IGAR(S),
Mantripukhri on today.
All officers, JCOs and
personnel of Assam Rifles
took a pledge to oppose all
forms of terrorism.
They
pledged to uphold and promote
peace, social harmony,
and understanding among all
fellow human beings and
fight against the disruptive
forces which threaten human
lives and values.
The objective of the observance
is to raise awarness
on the destructive consequences
of terrorism to
mankind.
Anti-Terrorism Day is observed
throughout annually
on May 21 to commemorate
the death anniversary of
former Prime Minister Rajiv
Gandhi.
However, this year the day
falls on Sunday and thus the
pledge taking ceremony was
organised today, said a statement
issued by HQ IGAR
(South) .
