NEROCA FC edge closer to I-League dream

NEROCA FC, Sangakpham are a step closer to their I-League dream as they produced yet another clinical performance today by thrashing Delhi United 3-0 at the DU's home turf, Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi.
With the comprehensive win today, NEROCA FC are perched on top of the league table with 20 points in eight matches.
After eight matches, coming close to the State team are Southern Samity with 16 points while Delhi United FC are placed sixth with 7 points, just above LoneStar Kashmir FC.
Singam Subash Singh did the star turn for NEROCA FC today as he struck twice in both halves.
The two teams made a cagey start and tested each other with some brilliant woodworks and attacks.
However, the day saw visitors NEROCA FC flawless on the pitch controlling the proceedings from the start.
NEROCA's opening goal was scored in the 36th minute when Singam Subash Singh's powerful delivery beat Delhi United's custodian Gurpreet Singh.
The two teams went to the break with NEROCA's 1-0 lead intact.
The change of ends saw NEROCA FC step up their game a notch further as Ningthoujam Pritam Singh was bang on target to extend the lead in the 46th minute.
Singam Subash Singh struck his second in the 56th minute as he delivered another powerful shot to make it 3-0 .
Even as the hosts pushed hard to alter the score line, they just could not breach the strong defence line of NEROCA FC.
LoneStar Kashmir FC will next host NEROCA FC on May 22 at TRFC turf ground, Srinagar.
