Imphal, May 19 2017:
Chief Minister N Biren has seriously taken note of a complaint posted on Facebook by a young man highlighting the trouble he has had to undergo to apply for his driving license at the office of the DTO, Bishnupur.
The post as posted by the young man reads "Here I want to point out how the DTO, Bishnupur has delayed the process of issuing a Smart Driving License to me.
"On May 13 this year, I waited at the office of the DTO till 2.30 pm to get his signature and he finally arrived at 2.45 pm on the ground that he was in a meeting with the DC.
"Next day I again went to the office of DTO and reached there at 8.40 am to take my photographs for Smart Driving License process, but the official came at 9.30 am and they kept me waiting till 2 pm.
The photograph process started at 2.30 pm and then I was told to again come on Monday with the fee amount of Rs 500 .
"So I went on Monday to pay my Rs 500 fee but was again told to come on Wednesday to first take Learner's License.
I went there again but they kept me waiting for 2 more hours.
"I thought of complaining to the DTO but fortunately I received by LL at about 2 pm after a long wait" .
The young man who has posted this appealed to the Chief Minister to look into the matter and see what may be done, while at the same time expressing apprehension that getting his Driving License may be unduly delayed because he has put up a complaint.
