NSUC warns stir against misappropriation of rice quota

The Naga Students Union Chandel (NSUC) has alleged that the supplier concerned who distributes rice quotas to Anganwadi centres at Chandel district has supplied less quantity of rice as compared with other districts.
A press release issued by information and publicity secretary of NSUC stated that the Social Welfare Department has sanctioned equal quantity of rice for all districts, however, the Anganwadi centres at Chandel district have received minimum quantity of rice.
In all districts, two quintals of rice are issued for main centre and one quintal for mini centre, the press statement informed and alleged that in case of Chandel district, one quintal is issued for main centre and half quintal is supplied for mini centre.
Seeking immediate attention, the union has urged the authority concerned to serve fitting punishment to the culprit at the earliest.
NSUC has warned that it is set to call a total shutdown at Chandel district including the NH from September 19 if the pending and undelivered rice quota fail to reach the Anganwadi centres by September 18 .
