State scripts new record with 1104 cases; 17 succumb

The state on Wednesday reported the highest ever single day new cases with government bulletins confirming 1104 new Covid-19 infections along with 17 fatalities.
The last time the state recorded the highest single day cases of 1032 was on May 30 .
In terms of positivity rate, the highest single day record was reported on May 22 with 23.93 per cent while Wednesday reported a positivity rate of 14.54 per cent.
Meanwhile, the active caseload has reached 8210 out of which 3323 (40.48 per cent) are in home isolation, 2600 (31.67 per cent) in CHICs, 1417 (17.26 per cent) in CCCs and 870 (10.60 per cent) in hospitals.
Out of the 870 patients admitted to different hospitals, 329 are on oxygen support and 36 on ventilator support.
The number of patients on oxygen support could be higher as the report does not provide details for some of the hospitals despite having nearly 50 patients in IDU/HDU wards.
On the other hand, 85 patients from among those in CCCs are on oxygen support.

As of Tuesday night, the total number of patients admitted to different treatment facilities in the state against the available bed strength are RIMS (213/224), JNIMS (231/286), I Land Hospital (30/60), District Covid Facilities (140/332), MSF (29/30), Private Covid Hospitals (227/360) and CCCs (1417/2946) .
The grand total of admitted patients is 2287 and number of beds available is 1951, which include 422 in hospitals and 1529 in CCCs.
According to official reports, the 1104 new cases included 1093 people (495 male & 598 female) from among the general population and 11 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at RIMS (31), JNIMS (77), District Hospitals (736) and other testing centres (260).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (195), Imphal West (366), Thoubal (108), Bishnupur (67), Kakching (80), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (102), Chandel (10), Senapati (32), Tamenglong (66), Tengnoupal (9), Jiribam (6), Noney (33), Kamjong (1) and Kangpokpi (12) .
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 17 Covid-19 deaths (14 male & 3 female) in the last 24 hours.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (4), Imphal East (3), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Churachan-dpur (4) .
Five patients died at JNIMS, three each at RIMS, DH CCpur, Shija Hospitals, and one each at Raj Medicity, SDH Moreh and MSF Little Flower School.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1326 .
Two of the 17 victims were below 60 years of age.
Two had their first shot of vaccine and 13 were unvaccinated while vaccine status of two victims is not available.
Three patients died within 24 hour of arrival at hospital and one within 48 hours.
Seven patients did not have any comorbid conditions.
The state has reported 51,121 positive cases and 952 death cases during the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 10731 new cases and 176 fatalities while the last seven days saw addition of 6180 new cases and 97 fatalities.
In the last 24 hours, 583 patients were discharged from home isolation (179), RIMS (8), JNIMS (5), CCCs (170) and CHICs (221).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 80,521 (general population - 76,585 and CAPF personnel - 3,936) .
Number of recovered cases is 70,985 (general population - 67,161 and CAPF personnel - 3,824) and number of active cases is 8,210 (general population - 8,103 and CAPF personnel - 107) .
The recovery rate is 88.15 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1802 D-type and 435 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District hospitals and government institutions have 398D and 87B filled cylinders and stock distributions made to different districts included Bishnupur (70D,0B), Chandel (24D,5B), Churachandpur (55D,0B), Senapati (44D,0B), Thoubal (72D,30B), Ukhrul (35D,20B), Tamenglong (20D,0B) Jiribam (48D,17B), Moreh (7D,0B), Kamjong (3D,2B), Kangpokpi (3D,0B), Kakching (9D,13B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney(2D,2B) and CCCs (373D,125B).As many as 31,086 vaccine doses were administered on Tuesday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 8,22,355, which include 99,374 individuals who have received their second dose.
Meanwhile, 99 new positive cases were detected out of 566 samples tested in Kakching district from Tuesday 2 pm to Wednesday 2 pm.
Two cases were detected at Sun Hospital, four at Ema Hospital, 14 at Jivan Hospital and 79 at different government RAT sites including House to House testing.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (27,946), Imphal East (17,670), Thoubal (6792), Churachandpur (6652), Kangpokpi (1990), Tamenglong (2344), Bishnupur (5415), Senapati (1548), Ukhrul (1594), Kakching (4294), Chandel (1325), Noney (639), Tengnoupal (849), Jiribam (815), Kamjong (493) and Pherzawl (155).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (459), Imphal East (333), Thoubal (123), Churachandpur (111), Kangpokpi (36), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (111), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (16), Kakching (81), Chandel (20), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (9), Jiribam (4), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 25,949 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,225 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,14,226 tests per million population against the national average of 3,12,756 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.65 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 7594 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 14.54 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 8.26 per cent.
