New judiciaries of Naga People's Organisation inducted

A new 10 member Judiciary board has been constituted under the constitution of the Naga People's Organisation (NPO), Senapati yesterday.
A simple induction cum oath taking ceremony was held at the Conference Hall of the NPO, Senapati.
The 10 member judicial board of the NPO comes under Secretary, Customary law where they will be responsible for administration of justice as per customary law and practices.
Solomon Arow, President, NPO welcomes the newly inducted members to maintain records, verdicts, proceedings of the court, etc.
The previous tenure reportedly received only one case in the local judicial court under NPO where the President hoped and prayed that no serious case comes even in future with development taking place in the region too.
The newly inducted judicial members include RK Luikang and M John from the Thangal tribe, VS Joseph and OK Shang from the Poumai Naga tribe, Engau Francis and R Kuba Domanic from the Zeliangrong tribe, Pf Joseph and Shahra Kaisii from the Mao tribe and Karaihing and Luikang Anthony from the Maram tribe.
The new members took oath to uphold the unity and integrity of the NPO and will faithfully and contentiously discharge their duties as members of Naga Customary Court under NPO, Senapati and swear to do right to all manners of people in accordance with the judicial manual and the customary law without fear or favour , affection or ill will.
Meanwhile, the Office of the NPO, Senapati had served information to the general public on the ongoing work/development of Kedima-Tobufii-Biisho-Karong road (Karong-Kedima 66 kms), 2 lanes in the state of Manipur and Nagaland which is progress within Senapati district.
The statement signed by Jonah Mao K, General Secretary of the NPO mentioned that no individual, group, organization, village or community is to hamper or disturb the ongoing construction works in any manner.
The said road will not only serve as alternative conveyance to the populace of the district but also to the state as a whole.
For any land dispute or imbroglio there be in any manner, the matter should be settled in a competent court and the dispute should not disturb the development program of the district, it stated.
Formalities of land compensation and registration of land ownership should be initiated by the concerned authority and all legitimate land owners are stated to be duly compensated as per Govt rate, it added.
