RIMS Hospital complex sprayed with sodium hypochlorite solution

Imphal, April 08 2020:
In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal has been disinfecting hospital premises such as doctors' Duty Room of COVID Hospital, Viral Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL), Isolation Ward, approach road to Incinerator etc using sodium hypochlorite, said the hospital today.
The premises were disinfected considering the large number of people who visit these places.
The disinfectant was sprayed using fire service vehicles with the support of Manipur Fire Service.

Other locations will also be disinfected, said a statement issued by Prof Ch Arunkumar Singh, Medical Superintendent, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital.
The programme was initiated by Prof A Santa Singh, Director, RIMS and is being taken up under the supervision of Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, Prof Ch Arunkumar Singh.
Members of the Non-Teaching Employees Welfare Association of RIMS, Imphal took part in the disinfection programme, said the hospital statement.
