Cabinet nods to rationalising transfer and posting of cops

A State Cabinet meeting today adopted various resolutions including rationalization of transfer and posting of civil police, Manipur Rifles (MR) and Indian Reserve Batallion (IRB) of the state's Home Department in January every year.
According to the Cabinet decision, two years' posting would be applicable for armed personnel in the hill districts while in the valley districts, a four-year posting term has been decided.
These arrangements have not been able to be followed since 2000, maintained Education Minister M.Okendro while speaking to media persons after the Cabinet meeting.
The meeting also unanimously agreed to increase the amount of monthly diet balance of Rs 750 to Rs 1500 provided to disabled persons in the state.
Also, the upgradation of the post of a constable to head constable of the Home department has been decided.
Meanwhile, in order to fill up the vacant posts of 39 higher secondary teachers, 933 posts have been created and another 298 posts would be filled up through the recruitment under Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC).
Also for colleges, a total of 428 posts have been created, hence, around 285 teachers posts for colleges would be filled up through MPSC.
The Cabinet meeting further resolved to engage 89 contractual staffs of different categories under State Health Society, National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
Moreover, engagement of 41 contractual staff of Urban Health Mission Manipur and 5 contractual staff of different categories to man the Skilled Lab at College of Nursing, Lamphelpat has been approved.
Under the State Health Society, NRHM, the reengagement of 10 retired MBBS doctors and one specialist upto February 28, 2015 has been also been okayed.
On the other hand, the Cabinet gave its nod to the transfer of land records of Okshaipat from Wangoi Sub-Division, Imphal West to Bishnupur district.
Moreover, the state has approved to sanction 43 acres of land at Lambui Khongnangkhong to the Industry Department.
The Cabinet also declared to engage 45 staffs for district court and Manipur High Court, Minister Okendro who is also the spokesperson of the Government told media persons.
