Lamka, September 02 2014:
Guite Road, the state highway connecting the Indo-Myanmar villages of Singngat and Sinjawl with the rest of the world lies in a dilapidated condition.
The pathetic condition of the road causes severe hardships to the villagers in establishing connectivity with district headquarters of Churachandpur.
Singhat-Sinjawl highway which connects with Guite Road has also become a curse for the Singhat Sub-division and Thanlon sub-division of Churachandpur district.
Sinjawl village is located about 87 kilometres from Singngat.

On the other hand, people of 60-Singhat Assembly Constituency in Thanlon Sub-division are facing similar hardships because of poor road connectivity with Aizawl in Mizoram. In Singhat Sub-division, some government institutions like schools, heath care centres and an office of the SDO exist only for name shake as many employees and teachers seldom report for duty under the pretext of bad road communication along Guite road state highway.
Contrary to government stipulation, the Suandoh JB School and the Singhat government high schools which accommodate students up to Class five standard have no teachers to teach Science, Hindi, and Mathematics subjects.
Computer class remains a distant dream for the students.
The villagers have also expressed strong resentment that there is no SDO office in the Sub-divisional headquarters and it has been hampering development in the areas.
