Former District and Session Judge and first of three members of the Manipur Human Right Commission Lisam Rabindra died yesterday at a hospital in Dimapur, Nagaland.
He was 76 and is survived by his wife Binodini and seven children � four daughter and three sons.
Rabindra was hospitalized at Shija Hospital on October 21 last but later shifted to International Hospital at Dimapur, Nagaland on November 7 for further treatment as his health condition became serious.
He breathed his last at the hospital yesterday around 3.30 pm.
Born on October 2, 1938 at Singjamei Waikhom Leikai, Rabindra became a lawyer after he cleared his LLB (Bachelor in Law).
He joined as judicial officer in the state judicial service and was deputed as District and Session Judge after promotion to deputy secretary in the Law Department.
After he retired from service as District and Session Judge, he became a member of the Manipur Human Rights Commission in its first term in 1998 and retired from the membership in 2003 with the completion of his five year team.
He also wrote a book of 35 poems.
