In the aftermath of the recent killings in Nagaland that have resulted in creating a tense situation, supporters of 'Naga reconciliation' around the world are all set to 'pray' on September 12 for peace in Naga areas.
The recent skirmishes between the Assam Rifles and the NSCN-IM resulting in the death of the latter's 'major' and also the factional clash of Wokha between the NSCN-K and the NSCN-IM killing one NSCN-K cadre have brough fear psychosis in all the Naga areas apprehending there could be a renewed factional killings which had stopped two years ago.
The Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), the body responsible for halting the factional related violence among the Naga underground groups, has announced that the Nagaland Baptist Churches Council ( NBCC ), CNBC, NCRC, and Nagaland Catholic Churches and the Christians in Germany, USA, Italy, African Baptist Federation, Australian Baptist Union, Baptist Union of Denmark, the European Baptist Federation and the Quakers have requested their respective constituencies to mark September 12, 2010, as a special day f prayer for Naga reconciliation.
Other organizations from around the world will also be supporting the Naga reconciliation process on the same day.
Until the year 2007 there had been rampant factional killings in Naga areas mostly between the NSCN-K and the NSCN-IM.
Enough blood had been shed.
There were constant fear gripping among the Naga populace.
However, the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) led by Dr Wati Aier has brought together all the warring Naga underground groups to sign a covenant that there would be no more factional fightings not only the physical combat but also in the media.Numerous football matches involving all the Naga underground organisations and the Naga civil societies have been organised by the FNR as part of the reconciliation measure both in India and abroad.
