Imphal, September 03, 2010:
Demanding issuance of appointment orders to candidates selected through DPC as per a convey order reportedly issued by the Government, the Association of DPC Successful Candidates for Primary Teachers/HMT/HGT 2006 has threated to launch a fast unto death stir in case the Government tries to annul the 'convey order'.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, general secretary of the association, H Somendro recalled that Education Director M Harekrishna issued a convey order on April 22 this year thereby delcaring results of the DPC for recruitment of Primary teachers for which written test was held away back in 2006. But the results were held back just as it was about to be displayed on notice board because there were no quota for Ministers and MLAs in the selected list Decrying that the committee constituted by the Govt to probe into the controversies surrounding recruitment of Primary teachers have been extending its period of enquiry again and again, Somendro questioned the implications of this delaying tactic.
He went on to ask if the Govt.has any secret policy.
Alleging that the convey order was signed and approved by the Education Minister, the general secretary demanded that the singature embossed in the convey letter should be examined in forensic laboratory if the Education Minister is insisting that he did not sign on the convey letter.
Such prolonged over the validity or invalidity of a Govt.order has all the potential to lead the educated unemployed youth on the wrong path, he asserted.
