Training programme kick starts

Thoubal, January 10 2020:
A three-day training programme of farmers on "Exploring different types of organic input production from in-situ residues, packaging and marketing thereof" began today at the training hall of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Thoubal.
The training programme is being organised by Manipur Small Farmers' Agri-Business Consortium and KVK Thoubal under the supervision of National Institute of Agricultural Marketing, NIAM Jaipur.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Agriculture Director, Laltanpuii Vanchhong; Manipur Small Farmers' Agri-Business Consortium, Project Coordinator, MS Khaidem; OneCert International Private Limited NE India, Senior Manager, Dr L Ibomcha Singh and Head of KVK Thoubal, senior scientist Dr Zeshmarani Sarangthem as the presidium members.
Speaking as the chief guest, Laltanpuii Vanchong said that organising such programme to promote organic farming is a very welcoming step.
The Director also exuded confidence that the training programme will encourage the farmers to practise organic farming and help reduce the risks of human exposure to toxic materials.
On the opening day, ICAR Imphal scientist, Dr T Basanta; KVK Imphal West SMS (PBG), S Gunamani; Agri Department, Agronomist, S Sanatomba; APO (MOVCD) Agri, Kh Nimaichand and Dr Zeshmarani trained several farmers from Kakching and Thoubal Districts.
