JAC clarifies on RPF statement

Reacting to the statement of RPF published in some local dailies, the JAC Against the Rape Case of TG Higher Secondary School Student has disclosed that one Thangjam Shanti from Kongpal Chanam Leikai came to the victim's house for offering help.
She called up someone on the phone and asked the victim's family members to talk to the person.
The person then asked the family members to pass on the phone to the victim.
However, she spoke nothing to the caller.
The JAC said that the caller is unknown to them and they do not suspect him as RPF cadre.
The victim had never talked to any person from either RPF or any other UG groups other than the person who called the family members on phone.
However, one person claiming to be a cadre of RPF repeatedly called up and sent SMSes to the victim's family members on February 10 asking them to come to Moreh.
One such SMS is still with the family members, the JAC said.
On the following day, that is February 11, the same person called up again expressing willingness to take the victim into their custody.
The audio recording for the conversation is also with the family, the JAC claimed.
In the Press conference on May 24 at Press Club, the JAC had said nothing malicious against RPF nor made any claim that Japan, the girl, who came to the family with offer for buying vehicle and money to settle the issue as cadre of RPF.
The records of the said Press Meet is still there as proof, the JAC said, while appealing to all the organizations to render utmost support in fighting justice for the rape victim.
