Drugs seized from truck

Imphal, June 02 2013:
A team of Sekmai police has seized drugs worth lakhs of rupees from 10-wheeler truck (AS-11-AC-6348) coming from Guwahati to Imphal along National Highway 2 yesterday.
The drugs which included 41,314 tablets of Spasmo Proxyvon (SP), 4500 tablets of N-10, 380 bottles of Lupicof and 100 bottles of R-Cof were found concealed in six carton boxes wrapped with gunny bags among other live saving drugs.
The exact worth of the seized drugs has not yet been worked out, but it is believe that it would worth lakhs of rupees.

Along with the seizure, the driver of the truck identified as Md Tajauddin alias Sana (3) s/o Md Nijamuddin of Lilong Chingkham Makha Dam as well as the handyman identified Md Siraj Khan (19) s/o Md Nahatomba of Thoubal Moijing Wangmataba were taken into police custody for further questioning to find out the owner of the drug consignment.
Meanwhile, Meira Paibis of Sekmai have expressed desire for disposal of the seized drug consignment through burning in the presence of the people at the earliest possible.
