Imphal, April 29 2020:
Tangkhul Naga Aze Longphang has said they have lost the respect and admiration they have for the titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba at a moment he decided to contest the Rajya Sabha election.
In this regard, a press release issued by the chairman of Tangkhul Naga Aze Longphang (Southern Tangkhul Naga Union) Shomi Angkang said that the union no longer see Leishemba Sanajaoba as their titular king anymore.
He should have discussed or at least told about his decision to join politics to the public, he pointed out and stated that disregarding public opinion to stay away from politics indicates that the titular king is not fit for the post he holds.
Reminding that Maharaja Budhachandra and several Tangkhul kings held a five-day meeting at Hungpung Village in 1945 and during the meet, the gathering resolved not to merge Manipur with any countries, the chairman said that the decision taken by the titular king to join politics without considering the feeling of the public is very unfortunate.
