Hills and valley people exchange brotherly love amid lockdown

Thoubal, April 29 2020:
People of Maring tribe of Paringtong village, 42-Tengnoupal AC donated a Shaktiman truckload of vegetables for the locals of Heirok, Thoubal district, today.
The vegetables gathered from Paringtong village was received by the Education Minister Dr Thokchom Radheshyam ardently on behalf of Heirok people.
And in return, Heirok's denizens also gifted edibles like rice, packaged salt, potatoes etc.
for the visiting villagers as a token of appreciation.
At a simple function held at the residence of Dr Radheshyam at Heirok Thokchom Leikai, ADC Member of Khoibu Constituency, M Morungson stated that the relief items were donated considering the hardship COVID lockdown has presented to the people, especially poor and to strengthen the bond of brotherhood shared between the people of hills and valley areas.
On the other hand, Dr Radheshyam expressed that he is delighted to see so many people coming out to help one another at such time of crisis.
Saying that he had heard about similar exchanged of food and vegetables that took place at Sugnu, Hiyanglam, Wangkhei etc., the Minister stated lamented that the lockdown has brought out the brotherly feelings of hills and valley people to the limelight.
Later, the vegetables were distributed to the locals of Heirok.
