Chandel, April 29 2020:
Monsang Tribe Union has extended food materials to selected vulnerable households of Monsang villages in Chandel District today.
The relief materials were extended through SUR (Sirti Upa Ruh/ Monsang Tribe Union) COVID-19 Relief Fund created in association with Monsang Naga Students Union, chiefs of Monsang villages and Monsang Women's Union.
And with the contributions of many from the community, the items were distributed to residents of Monsang Pantha, Liwa Chaning, Liwa Sarei, Liwa Khullen, Heibunglok and Japhou villages at SUR community hall near Japhou Bazar.
A committee on SUR COVID-19 Relief Fund also extended a sum of Rs 1000 each to 60 students stranded outside the State.
The committee also expressed gratefulness to all contributors.
S Benjamin Mate, who contested for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency seat on BJP ticket, has also presented banana plants and other vegetables grown in hills to BJP Sugnu Mandal to mark the love and bonding between the people of valley and the hill districts.
The items were handed through chief of Utangpokpi village, Thangkhomang Baite, reports our correspondent.
Functionaries of the mandal in return has also gifted edibles as well as sanitizers to the chief as a mark of respect and gratitude.
The items presented by the MP candidate were then distributed at few locations of Sugnu AC .
