Imphal, April 29 2020:
Rice under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana was distributed to the beneficiaries of Ward No 6 and 7 of Yairipok Top Chingtha under Andro Assembly Constituency at the football ground of Top Chingtha Youth Progressive Organisation (TYPO) today.
The distribution programme was assisted by volunteers of the local club, womenfolk and agents.
TYPO's secretary Senjoi Aboi Meitei expressed gratitude to former Minister, Th Shyamkumar for leading the distribution work and Kongbam Ongbi Inaocha, Member of Tulihal Zilla Parishad for distributing hand sanitizers, face masks to the volunteers and the beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, 41 most vulnerable households under Wangoo Gram Panchayat were extended 10 kg of rice and edibles by Wangoo GP COVID-19 Relief Committee.
The president of the committee expressed that the committee is ever ready to assist all in needs.
In view of the onset of the agricultural season, he urged the State Government to ensure smooth supply of petroleum products for use in different purposes about agriculture.
Khumukcham Jibon, convenor of the Relief Committee COVID-19 Combat team, BJP Manipur Pradesh, has assisted 100 priority families under Oinam Assembly Constituency with hand sanitizer, homemade face masks and edibles including rice under "Feed the needy" campaign.
Members of All Manipur Women's Voluntary organisation (AMAWOVA) Jiribam branch also reached out to 25 marginalised families of Kamranga, Chandrapur, Kadamtala, Chingdong Leikai (Patchaw) with edibles.
AMAWOVA Athokpam and Wabagai units also extended relief materials at their respective areas.
All Jiribam United Clubs Association (AJUCA), Jiribam under the aegis of All Manipur United Club Organization, (AMUCO) also extended 5 bags of rice for the villagers at Krotroikhal village under Barak circle and 1 bag of rise for 11 individuals observing home quarantine at Kuisenphai village today.
Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur in association with AMAWOVA and AMUCO also distributed edibles to the residents of Andro.
"Mashawara" members join relief work In view of the hardships faced by the people due to the lockdown, members of the WhatsApp group "Mashawara" have reached out to residents to Kasom Khullen, Kakching, Keirak, Mayai Keithel, Oinam, Wangoi and Ngariyan with edibles.
The members also extended relief materials to family of MV Abdul Hei whose house at Lilong Leikhong was gutted by fire recently.
