Imphal, February 02 2021:
As a part of 5th Federation of Government College Teachers Associations (FEGOCTA) agitation, sit in protests continued for the fourth day at various Government colleges today.
FEGOCTA stated that the college teachers are discriminated triple times which are unprecedented and unparalleled in history.
Such triple discriminations are a complete violation of the Constitution, UGC Policy and the principle of justice.
The college teachers will not accept the COVID-19 pandemic excuses as FEGOCTA has been demanding 7th UGC and regulation, 2018 since pre-COVID-19 time in December, 2018 .
FEGOCTA continued that the college teachers have not been given full salary for the last nine years.
The Teacher's Association alleged that order of 7th UGC Pay and Regulations, 2018 for college teachers in the State have not been issued despite the State Cabinet approval five months ago while employees of the Central Govt in Manipur, teachers of Manipur University and in the colleges of other States of India and employees of Manipur Govt are already enjoying 7th Pay.
FEGOCTA warned that the agitation will continue until decisions of the Cabinet on August 6, 2020 on UGC Policy are implemented.
