AR organise camp at Paraolon

Imphal, June 20 2015 : 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) conducted medicals camp at Paraolon, Libung and Tuthang villages to facilitate return of villagers.

The villagers had moved to Chandel and they were apprehensive about the ongoing military operations.

All fears of the villagers were allayed as SFs assured that the operations would always be people friendly, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S).

The medical officers and Commanding Officers of 6 DOGRA and 20 Assam Rifles welcomed back the villagers and assured them of complete safety, the press release added.

The medical team not only provided treatment to around 150 villagers but also distributed the medicines free of cost, the press release added.

In another endeavour, 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) organised a lecture on child care at Ril Ram Center (RRC) village on June 18 .

It was attended by 21 villagers including women and children of the village.

The village chief and secretary also attended the seminar and lauded the initiative of the Assam Rifles.

The function culminated with an interaction between Assam Rifles personnel and villagers, said an AR press release.
