Assam Rifles holds community Outreach programme

Kangpokpi, July 03 2026:
Assam Rifles conducted a community outreach programme at Bungte Chiru village in Kangpokpi district on Friday to engage with local residents, address their concerns and reaffirm the security forces' commitment to maintaining peace and normalcy in the region.
According to a statement issued by the IGAR (South), the interactive programme brought together 18 villagers, providing them with an open platform to share their concerns, suggestions and views on the prevailing security situation and community welfare.
During the interaction, villagers spoke about the impact of recent incidents on their daily lives, movement and livelihoods.
In response, Assam Rifles personnel briefed them on the confidencebuilding measures and security initiatives being undertaken, including regular area domination patrols, strengthened security arrangements, medical outreach programmes and other welfare activities aimed at ensuring a safe and conducive environment.
The discussions also underscored the importance of close cooperation between security forces and local communities in preserving peace and preventing the spread of rumours and misinformation.
The programme concluded on a positive note, with villagers appreciating the proactive efforts of tire Assam Rifles and expressing gratitude for its continued support.
