Special enrolment drive held for IDPs in Kakching to expand welfare coverage

Kakching, July 03 2026: A special enrolment and saturation drive was conducted at Wangoo Tera High School, Kakching, on Friday to facilitate the enrolment of eligible Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) under various social welfare schemes of the State Government.

The programme was jointly organised by the District Administration, Kakching and the District Social Welfare Office (DSWO), District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), and Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), under the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur.

The drive targeted IDPs residing at the Wangoo Tera High School Relief Camp as well as non-camp beneficiaries for enrolment under various welfare schemes of Social Welfare Department including the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme, Chief Minister's Widow Pension Scheme, Disability Pension Schemes, Unemployment Allowance to Persons with Disabilities, Ima Nongthang Leima Yaifa Tengbang Scheme, Sponsorship under Mission Vatsalya and other welfare programmes.

As part of the ongoing enrolment campaign, similar drive will be held on July 6 at KBM English School, Kakching Khunou, and on July 7 at Tangjeng Khunjao Community Hall Relief Camp, with enrolment activities scheduled from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm on both days.
