One person arrested for capturing wild Boar from Keibul Lamjao National Park

Bishnupur, February 14 2019:
A poacher was apprehended today for capturing a wild Boar weighing about 3 0 kg approx.
at one and only floating national park 'Keibul Lamjao' today.
The arrested person was identified as Heisnam Sharatkumar Singh s/o (L) H Mani Singh of Khordak Mayai Leikai.
Acting on a tip off that a wild Boar was in custody of a person, a police team led by ASI Haridas of CDO Bpr under the supervision of SDPO Moirang Ksh Sivakanta Singh conducted a search operation in the area and arrested the person for capturing and killing the wild animals.
He reportedly captured and killed the wild animals on February 12 and kept it hidden under a pond nearby.
Regarding the incident, SDPO Moirang Ksh Sivakanta Singh said that they acted on a strong lead that wild animals are being captured from Keibul Lamjao National Park and conducted search operation at Khordak Mayai Leikai in which the said person was arrested along with the cut parts of the wild animals.
He appealed the public not to indulge in such kind of illegal activities in future.
Range Officer II, Keibul Lamjao National Park S Nabakumar Singh said that it is unfortunate that incident of poaching occurred inside the protected area at Keibul Lamjao National Park.
The arrested person was later produced before the media persons in the presence of SDPO Moirang Ksh Sivakanta Singh; OC Keibul S Surjaboro Singh; RO II KLNP S Nabakumar Singh and other staff.
