Triple murder case:: Hopeson, Levi Kachui grilled

In the argument hearing proceedings of the case (CC/36/10 CBI Vs Hopeson Ningshen, related to the abduction and subsequent killing of Dr Thingnam Kishan, the then SDO of Kasom Khullen and his two subordinate staffs, namely Revenue Mandal Y Token and Driver A Rajen Sharma in February, 2009, held in the court of Vinay Gupta, Special CBI Judge, at Patiala House, New Delhi today, Senior Public Prosecutor AK Singh argued that accused Hopeson Ningshen was responsible for the murder of Dr.Thingnam Kishan Singh, Y Token and A Rajen Sharma as the mobile phone used by Dr.Kishan Singh on 13 February, 2009 was later found in his possession.
It may be noted here that during the course of the investigation, CBI recovered the said mobile phone from one Levi Kachui.
When the judge asked Hopeson if Levi Kachui was senior to him in terms of rank, the accused positively identified the latter as a Colonel in the Army of NSCN-IM while he claimed himself to be a lieutenant Colonel.
On being asked further if the organization followed the same structure of the Army rank profile, Hopeson replied that the NSCN-IM follows the British system.
Levi Kachui stated before the CBI that it was accused Hopeson Ningshen who handed over the mobile phone to their organization (NSCN-IM) soon after the murder of Dr.Thingnam Kishan Singh and his two associates.
Though the first part of the arguement hearing concluded today, the proceedings would resume after the Pujah holiday on October 29, 30, 30 and November 1.
