Condolences pour in for Tamenglong landslide victims

Tamenglong, July 11 2018:
After death of 9 including eight children in a landslide that hit Tamenglong, many organisations have poured in their condolences to the bereaved families who have lost precious ones.
The Zeliangrong Union (AMN) condoled the deaths and appealed the Government to provide immediate help to all the bereaved families affected by the landslide.
The ZU (AMN) along with ZU Tamenglong Zone and Zeliangrong Women Union Manipur shared the pain and sorrow with the bereaved family members and wished their soul may rest in peace.
Meanwhile, The Zeliangrong Baudi, the Zeliangrong Youth Front and Zeliangrong Students condoled the demise of 9 precious lives in the tragic incident.
While expressing grief and sorrow on the unprecedented loss of the human life caused by the natural calamity, the organisation urged the Government and all authorities concerned to extend necessary relief and rehabilitation to the families of the deceased in the form of ex-gratia and financial assistance to those injured in the landslide.
Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur also mourned the death of nine and expressed condolence to families of the deceased.
We pray for the departed soul to rest in peace and wish speedy recovery to those injured in the incident, said the organisations in their statements.
It is reported that, upon receiving the information, Company Commander E/143 BN CRPF Inspector Bhupinder Singh along with 40 personnel of CRPF stationed at Tamenglong Town rushed immediately to the location and started search and rescue operation to unearth the bodies in coordination with the local youth volunteers.
Two bodies are believed to be buried beneath debris.
The Company personnel are reportedly toiling hard through the day to extract the bodies at the earliest, said a statement of Commandant, 143 Bn CRPF.
