The president of the Naga People's Front, Manipur State Unit (NPF-MSU) and all rank and files of the party have expressed shock on the Tamenglong tragedy where nine persons were killed in landslides, reports NNN.
The NPF-MSU said that properties worth crores of rupees were lost in the calamity.
"We share the grief and sorrow of the Tamenglong people, especially the bereaved families.
Nothing can compensate the losses of their dear ones but it is our fervent prayer to the Almighty God, the giver of our life and protector of all to console the people.
God giveth and God taketh away," said the NPF-MSU in its condolence message.
The party also requested the State Government to arrange immediate relief materials and evacuate the injured people at the earliest.
"The effected people should be compensated by the Government without any bias and sluggishness in dealing the matter," the NPF said, adding, "Long term help that will sustain their life should also be arranged".
The NPF expressed confidence that the State Goverment will extend whatever need is required for the victims of the tragic incidents of Tamenglong.
