Monitoring team inspects production of MFPs

The Central monitoring team from TRIFED, New Delhi led by Sanjay Srivastava along with State Nodal Officer, Conservator of Forest, Gaithaolu Thaimei inspected the production of value-added Minor Forest Produces (MFPs) such as gooseberry candy, gooseberry jam and wild apple candy at Senapati VDVK (Paomata), Paomata Block on February 28 last.
The visiting team inspected the value-added MFP products on display at a Van Dhan stall set up at Paomata Bazar.
During the interaction session with members of the SHGs, Gaithaolu Thaimei stressed upon increasing the marketing value of value-added MFPs.
Post-training and distribution of tool-kits to 22 Self-Help Groups of Senapati VDVK (Paomata) was held on December 7, 2019 where, the SHGs started production of gooseberry candy, gooseberry jam and wild apple candy.
Earlier, the Senapati VDVK (Paomata) has reportedly made a record sale of Rs 3,40,000 so far on their products since its inception.

Senapati District is one of the districts implementing Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana (PMDVY) scheme in the State.
