MLA Morung Makunga today said that development of human resources of a community settled together in the state is the sign of development in the state.
The MLA was speaking at the prize distribution function of the 4th Literacy Meet organized by Maring Students Union (MSU) at a community hall at Maiphou village in Chandel district.
The MSU had organized 4th literary meet was hosted by Maiphou, Maringphai, Khukarthil Students' Unit.
MLA Marung Makunga was graced as chief guest at the prize distribution function.
He observed that Maring community which is one of the communities settled in Manipur is emerging as a community producing educated persons.
This indicated that the community is marching ahead.
Maring is one of the backward communities of the state.
Maring or Moiyon or whatever it may, producing large number of education persons is a sign of developing the state, he said.
He also advised the gathering students to compete only in the good and tried to bring the society and the state forward.
One should not compete in the bad thing which would drag down the society and state.
Students should not worry or discourage themselves of not getting study in ideal institutions.
They should be patients and work hard.
This will help to a bright future.
Students should not spend item in bad habits and remained far away from drinking and enjoying in the leisure time and should not indulge in quarrel with others.
Instead during students period, they should try to be a worthy leader and ideal citizen of the state.
As a part of the function which was held under the theme "Revealing our vision through education" a quiz competition which was participated by schools located within the Chandel district took part.
Students securing positions in the competition, students getting highest mark in HSLC, BA, B Com etc.
were also honoured in the function.
Social worker M Grace presided over the function which was marked by presentation of cultural folk dance and songs presentations by the students.
