Imphal, August 29 2016:
The NPF Manipur State Unit has strongly condemned the heinous act of unidentified miscreants who threw a powerful explosive at the residence of Samuel Risom, NPF MLA (resigned) and NPF Manipur State unit office at Dewlaland, at around midnight of August 28.The powerful bomb exploded and partially damaged a Maruti car and windows of the adjoining house.
Such lawlessness can no longer be tolerated.
It may be recalled that there was a similar blast at the same place on February 19, 2014, conveyed a press release issued by NPF State Unit General Secretary (Adm) Honreikhui Kashung.
The NPF also ridiculed the irresponsible remarks of MLA K Ranjit and Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Treasurer, against the NPF terming it as the frontal group and political wing of NSCN (IM) in a public meeting held at Ibudhou Soraren Harao Sanglen, Kakyai, Nambol Block on August 28 .
He should know that NPF is a recognized political party in Manipur which is growing from strength to strength.
This proved that the ruling government led by O Ibobi Singh seems to be instigating miscreants to carry out such crimes and creating hatred amongst the general public.
The Congress Government should own responsibility and apologize to the public for the barbaric act.
This cowardly act of any group or individual need be condemned by one and all right thinking citizens.
The NPF has no grudge with any individual or party and is ready to deliberate on any issue of the State rather than resorting to cowardly acts.
It may be recalled that the Chairmen of Senapati, Ukhrul, and Tamenglong Autonomous District Council have requested Manipur Government to provide security many times.
However, till date no security has been provided to any NPF Chairman and members.
Whereas, Congress ADC Members are provided adequate armed security guards, which is another clear example that Manipur Government is one-sided.
If any untoward incident happens to the Chairmen and Members of NPF led District Councils and its set-up, Manipur State Government shall be held responsible, it added.
