Informing that there has been drastic power cuts in different areas of the State due to severe depletion in reservoir levels at Hydro Power Stations in NE Region, the ED, Manipur State Power Distribution Company Ltd said that implementation of load shedding as per existing programme may be normalised from June 2 .
According to the MSPDCL, due to severe depletion in reservoir levels at Hydro Power Stations in NE region as a result of scant rainfall, the generation levels have reduced to the lowest.
The present State allocated power is about 31 MW against 55 MW during daytime and 60-70 MW against 100MW during evening hours.
This has affected the overall availability of State share and resulted in drastic power cuts in different areas of the State, it said.
It added that the plant is scheduled to come again in operation with effect from June 2 .
