No margin money problem, says KVIB

Beneficiaries for PMEGP would be selected strictly according to rules under the supervision of Commerce and Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam and selected beneficiaries would be ensured that they do not face any problems about margin money, said Manipur Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) vice-chairman Sagolsem Achouba.
Speaking to some media persons at the KVIB office today, Achouba said that 6137 applicants have been received for PMEGP from all over the State with Imphal West accounting for 1968 applications.
Interview for selection of beneficiaries for Imphal West would begin from 10 am of October 3 at KVIB office, Lamphelpat.
Schedules for such interviews for other districts would be finalised very soon, Achouba said.
Informing that more numbers of beneficiaries would be selected this year as compared to previous years, Achouba said that all the process of beneficiary selection would be completed and selection list sent to banks by October 31 .
Bank would complete release of money to beneficiaries by January next year.
This year beneficiaries would be spared the difficulties faced by selected beneficiaries because of non-release of the full amount in time in the preceding years.
Moreover, they would not face any problem about margin money, said the KVIB vice-chairman.
At the initiative of Minister Govindas, leave salary of Rs 11,44,586 has been given to eight employees of the KVIB.
Plans are also afoot to release Rs 17,72,736 to another eight employees who have not received any gratuity.
Moreover, KVIB has initiated due process to release 4,64,710 to four employees in the form of leave salary.
Achouba also claimed that Chief Minister O Ibobi has agreed to raise pay scales of KVIB employees to the scale recommended by the Sixth Pay Commission.
