Left parties hold meeting on 90 years martyrdom of revolutionaries

A meeting of the Left Parties in Manipur was held at Irawat Bhawan, Imphal today to mark 90 years of martyrdom of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, who were hanged to death by the British Raj in Lahore Central Jail on March 23, 1931 .
A concluding function of its month-long campaign against NPR, NRC and CAA was also organised.
The function was presided by A Lala Singh, CPI leader.
The meeting was addressed by CPI(M) secretary Kshetrimayum Santa and CPI secretary L Sotin.
Sotin maintained that the Narendra Modi led NDA Government at the Centre is acting to allegedly communalise the country using the outdated divide and rule policy by passing the "hated CAA" .
Kshetrimayum Santa, while highlighting the campaign in Manipur, said that his party cadres distributed leaflets by visiting houses in villages and towns including Jiribam.
He further said that the movement against CAA, NPR and NRC will continue with the slogan - "Stop the NPR, Scrap the NRC, Withdraw the CAA" .
The meeting also demanded that the State Government should earmark Rs 2000 crore to fight Covid 19 pandemic in the State with one month free ration to all, Rs 200 crore for health and 3 months advance pension for the aged.
