10,000 MT of rice sanctioned

Imphal, March 23 2020:
In connection with the precautionary measures taken up by the State Government against COVID-19 pandemic, the Central Government has agreed to sanction 10,000 metric tonnes of rice for the State.
The Central Government today informed the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department that 10,000 metric tonnes of rice of minimum support price would be allotted to the State, conveyed a source.
Moreover, the State Government today wrote to the Central Government to provide the State's three month's quota of NFSA rice free of cost, added the source.
