COVID-19: ANTA declares emergency in Anal villages; NCAC appeals for self lockdown

Imphal, March 23 2020:
The Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA) has declared a 'state of emergency' in all Anal villages.
A press release issued by the association also appealed to one an all presently residing in and around Chandel district and at the Myanmar to pay attention and obey the directives of the State Government as a precautionary measure from the pandemic COVID-19 .
Further appealing to all the general public especially village chiefs, pastors, women and youth bodies to stay vigil for any suspect of the pandemic, ANTA requested all to stay at their respective homes and maintain social distancing.
144 CrPC has also been clamped by the District Administration till midnight of March 31 in the State, it informed and requested the families of those who are returning home to report to the village or Church authorities.
The Anal apex body also appealed the State Government to adequately improve the medical and life-supporting facilities in the State in view of the COVID-19 pandemic that has killed over three thousand people across the globe.
On the other hand, Naga Chief's Association Chandel (NCAC) has appealed to the people of Chandel to self-quarantine to avoid transmission of COVID-19 in Chandel district.
The chiefs association also appealed the Chandel populace to travel only when it is very much necessary and check non-local and non-resident of Chandel from entering the district.
It further appealed all to follow the precautionary measures instructed by the medical experts and authorities concerned and avoid maximum import of foreign goods which are not very much essential for livelihood until further notice.
