Imphal, March 23 2020:
With the shuttering of major markets and shops in the State as a part of taking precaution against COVID-19 pandemic, some people are coming out in the streets to buy essential vegetables which are sold at high rates as a result of the prevailing situation.
They are forced to buy these items as they are normally used on Sajibu Cheiraoba.

Meanwhile, women vendors maintained that there are only few vegetables left to sell but at the same time expressed apprehension that they are in a dilemma as the remaining vegetables/items will go bad if not sold quickly.
Some of the women vendors said that they are aware about the pandemic but they are forced to come out in the streets to earn.
On the other hand, people arrived to buy the 'essential' vegetables even at high rates as they are necessary.
