Skill training for bamboo artisans

Imphal, March 22 2015:
A 20-day training programme for skill development of bamboo artisans was held on Sunday at Naoremthong Laishram Leirak Community Hall.
The programme is organized by the Life Line Development Organization (LLDO) in coordination with State Bamboo Mission, Manipur under National Bamboo Mission.
State Bamboo Mission Director H Brajamani Sharma and Conservator of Forest/Admn &Planning A Bonbirdhaja graced the programme as chief guest and president respectively.
State Bamboo Mission assistant State Mission Director N Somorendro was the guest of honour.
N Somorendro in his speech emphasized on the importance of infusing value to bamboo products and said that bamboo is being used by a human being from birth to death in the state.
S Bamboo Foundation president S Chinglam Luwang encouraged the bamboo artisans to bring laurels in the field of bamboo production and possibility of generating revenue for the state.
33 bamboo artisans attended the programme.
