Imphal, June 18 2011: If the uprising of the day against the extension of GoI-NSCN(IM) had not taken place, Manipur might have disintegrated, said UCM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar today at the public meeting organized by the United Committee Manipur (UCM) at Kekrupat.

India government bowed before the people of Manipur after the greatest ever uprising against the GoI-NSCN-IM Bangkok declaration of an extension of ceasefire "without territorial limit" on June 18, 2001, Dilipkumar claimed.

The attempt to allow Th Muivah to visit the state and allowing Nagaland's Chief Minister to visit Senapati with a Naga integration agenda were parts of the divide and rule policy of the Indian government, he alleged.

In such a situation, the people need to be vigilant of the GoI's activities, he added.

The proposed tripartite talks between GoI, Manipur government and the UNC at Senapati district HQ is an open agenda of breaking the territorial boundary of the state.

So, Manipur government should not be a part of the talks, he demanded.

Manipur government should not send its representatives for the proposed talks at Senapati as it will tantamount to selling out Manipur by the state government, Dilipkumar alleged.

Given the repeated threats to the territorial integrity of the state, he said that it will be better to wind up the GoI-NSCN(IM) peace talks.

The tripartite Suspension of Operation with the Kuki based militants is another cause of hardship to the people.

Signatory outfits of the SoO are openly collecting illegal 'taxes' from the people.

The prevailing situation is like the government giving a gun licence to loot the people, he added.

Kabui Mothers' Association president, Kakolum Kamei, speaking on the occasion, observed that it is GoI's policy that spews hatred amongst the people of the state.

She urged the Meiteis, being the majority community, to continue to take a major role in maintaining harmony among the different communities residing in the state.

She welcomed the state government's initiative to construct a guest house in the name of Rani Gaidinliu.

Former advisor of UCM, RK Ranendrajit, founder president, Sapamcha Jadumani, former advisor H Ibotombi Khuman, former president K Langamba, HERICOUN president Rev Rehang Chothe, president of Aimol Tribe Union Akhup, Kuki Human Right Organisation president Rose Mangshi Haokip, BNCC president Haokhomang Baite, Jamet-Ul-Ullama president Moulana Sahid Ahmed, AMKIL president Sakhi Leima, Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Assam president, L Nilamani were in the podium at the public meeting.
