Imphal, July 16 2021: Two days after scripting a record spike of 1104 single day cases on Wednesday, the state on Friday made another record of single day spike with 1128 new Covid-19 positive cases out of 7184 samples tested along with 10 fatalities.

The active caseload has reached 9033 out of which 3671 (40.60 per cent) are in home isolation, 3005 (33.27 per cent) in CHICs, 1444 (15.99 per cent) in CCCs and 913 (10.11 per cent) in hospitals.

Out of the 913 patients, 118 patients are admitted to ICU/HDU wards while 356 patients are on oxygen support and 41 on ventilator support.

On the other hand, 105 patients are on oxygen support in different CCCs.

As of Thursday, the number of patients admitted to different treatment facilities against available bed strengths in the state are RIMS (223/224), JNIMS (221/286), I Land Hospital (28/60), District Covid Facilities (148/347), MSF (26/30), Private Covid Hospitals (219/330) and CCCs (1271/2946) .

The grand total of admitted patients is 2136 and number of beds available is 2087, which include 364 in hospitals and 1502 in CCCs.

So far, 53,288 positive cases and 976 death cases have been reported during the second wave of the pandemic.

The current month saw addition of 12,989 new cases and 200 fatalities out of which 6656 new cases and 99 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.

According to official reports, the 1128 new cases included 1127 people (546 male & 581 female) from among the general population and one Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) jawan.

Their samples were tested at RIMS (16), JNIMS (76), District Hospitals (786) and other testing centres (250).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (289), Imphal West (279), Thoubal (85), Bishnupur (96), Kakching (119), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (125), Chandel (44), Senapati (7), Tamenglong (15), Tengnoupal (12), Jiribam (30) and Kangpokpi (19).The State Level -19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 10 Covid-19 deaths (6 male & 4 female) in the last 24 hours.

The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (4), Imphal East (4), Kangpokpi (1) and Jiribam (1).Three victims each died at RIMS and Shija Hospitals, two at JNIMS, and one each at Raj Medicity and DH Jiribam.

The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1350.Out of the 10 victims, three were below 60 years of age and four victims did not have any co-morbid conditions.

Three patients died within 24 hours of arriving at the hospital.

One of the victims had first dose of vaccine in May, one on June 30 and another one month back while six were not vaccinated.

Vaccination status of one victim is not available.

In the last 24 hours, 643 patients were discharged from home isolation (268), RIMS (17), JNIMS (2), CCCs (137) and CHICs (219).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 82,688 (general population - 78,751 and CAPF personnel - 3,937).Number of recovered cases is 72,305 (general population - 68,470 and CAPF personnel - 3,835) and number of active cases is 9,033 (general population - 8,936 and CAPF personnel - 97) .

The recovery rate is 87.44 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 1943 D-type and 302 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

District hospitals and government institutions have 449D and 108B filled cylinders and stock distributions made to different districts and facilities include Bishnupur (75D,7B), Chandel (34D,9B), Churachandpur (55D,0B), Senapati (44D,0B), Thoubal (103D,31B), Ukhrul (25D,19B), Tamenglong (20D,0B), Jiribam (46D,13B), Moreh (18D,5B), Kamjong (3D,2B), Kangpokpi (3D,0B), Kakching (15D,18B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney (2D,2B) and CCCs (366D, 129B).Thursday recorded administration of 27,282 vaccine doses taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 8,76,349, which include 1,06,857 people who have received their second dose.

Meanwhile, 77 new positive cases were detected from 389 samples tested in Kakching district from Thursday 2 pm to Friday 2 pm.

Six cases were detected at Jivan Hospital and 71 at different government RAT sites and house to house testing.

One is from Imphal West, three each from Bishnupur and Chandel district while the remaining are residents of Kakching district.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (28,514), Imphal East (18,229), Thoubal (6949), Churachandpur (6875), Kangpokpi (2021), Tamenglong (2403), Bishnupur (5605), Senapati (1570), Ukhrul (1602), Kakching (4498), Chandel (1393), Noney (665), Tengnoupal (865), Jiribam (845), Kamjong (498), and Pherzawl (156).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (468), Imphal East (337), Thoubal (123), Churachan-dpur (114), Kangpokpi (39), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (114), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (16), Kakching (82), Chandel (20), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (9), Jiribam (5), Kamjong (3), and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.

The state health authority is not willing to provide district-specific case status despite repeated request from media.

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 26,648 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,268 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 3,18,815 tests per million population against the national average of 3,15,644 TPM.

Case fatality rate dipped to 1.63 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, 7184 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 15.70 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 8.36 per cent.
