MPP for tapping tourism potential

Manipur People's Party (MPP) has stressed the need for giving extra focus on development of tourism sector in the state, stating that number of visitors will increase as soon as railway services penetrates the heart of the state capital.
A statement issued by its vice-president Dr S Ibomcha said that the government should make all out efforts in developing potential international tourist hotspots such as Loktak Lake, restoration of Lamphelpat under urban tourism among others.
Bringing development in tourism sector will not only bring in invaluable revenue to the state's exchequer but also improve socio-economic condition of the public.
The statement also emphasised on the need for proper rules on ILPS in order to protect the state's interest and also at the same time facilitate more tourist footfalls.
