Imphal, July 13, 2013:
Recalling that the Justice Hedge Commission's report of the alleged fake encounter cases in Manipur had been submitted to the Supreme Court on April 1 this year, Manipur People's Party (MPP) has questioned the silence of the apex Court over the matter since the date of submission.
A press statement of MPP has demanded the SC to explain its further efforts regarding the case and make the public aware.
It can be assumed that the apex Court does not care about Manipur when such a case of extremely heinous incidents are being kept in abeyance almost four months now.
MPP appealed the SC to take further action on the matter, it stated.
Also, the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh should clarify regarding the yesterday's headline of a local daily that no benefits come out of Rs 150 crores sanctioned for construction of Waishel Maril, the statement added.
