Blood donation camps

Blood donation camps were organised today by different institutions at 1st Manipur Rifles banquet hall and Nityaipat Chuthek office complex of State unit BJP.
The camp at MR banquet hall was jointly organised by Lions Club of Imphal Greater and national Rural health Mission, Manipur with the support of Manipur police, JNIMS Blood Bank and MACS.
Lions Club members, staffers of NRHM Manipur, police jawans and voluntary donors donated blood at the camp which was inaugurated by chief Secretary DS Poonia and held under the supervision of five doctors and seven nurses of JNIMS.
In his speech Poonia highlighted the importance of blood donation and urged the gathering to donate blood.
He also donated one unit of blood at the Camp.
NRHM State Mission Director Devesh Deval, gracing the inaugural function as guest of honour, highlighted various outreach programmes being conducted by NRHM.
He urged the JNIMS Blood Bank to give priorities to the mothers who might need blood during delivery for safe mother and child.
More than 50 units of blood were collected during the programmes.
At Nityaipat chuthek, inaugurated by State BJP president Th Chaoba, volunteers of BJP Yuva Morcha Manipur provided blood.
The camp was supervised by two doctors and four nurses of RIMS.
