Imphal, July 10 2015 :
Mao Union, Imphal, on behalf of Mao vendors, has expressed gratitude to various civil society organisations, Municipal chairman and ward members concerned for arranging a market place for Mao vendors.
The Union also thanked the State Govt for all the necessary help extended to the vendors.
In a statement, the Mao Union also acknowledged the buyers who show great enthusiasm in Mao produces and media houses for the coverage which acted in creating a friendly atmosphere between the sellers and buyers.
The Union at the same time expressed regret that the Mao market day which was scheduled for July 10 (today) could not take place due to imposition of curfew in Imphal.
The Mao farmers/vendors are determined to continue to take their produces down at Imphal even if the quit notice and restrictions of trading and movement served by SAPO and SAYO on Mao people in Nagaland have been temporarily lifted on July 8, the statement added.
