Woman held with demand note

Imphal, March 30 2017:
A woman sympathizer of the proscribed KCP (Military Joint Council) who was arrested by 2 Manipur Rifles today morning has been remanded to judicial custody till April 11 by Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West.
According to a police source, the woman identified as Vahey Kipgen (30) w/o Demthang Haokip of Motbung Phaijang village who was seen coming in a suspicious manner holding a brown coloured envelope was detained by a personnel of 2 MR posted at Hotel Imphal, North AOC.
She was verified with the help of women security staff of the hotel.
During interrogation, the woman disclosed that she is a sympathizer of KCP (Military Joint Council) and one unknown person directed her to serve a demand letter to Hotel Imphal for raising party fund.
A demand letter signed by Thouba Luwang, president of KCP (MJC) was found from her possession, the source said.
The arrested woman along with the seized demand letter was handed over to Imphal police station for taking up further necessary action.
A case has been registered in the police station under FIR number 108 (3) 2017 under Section 39/40 UA (P) Act.
She was produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West today itself with a prayer for judicial custody remand.
The Court remanded her to judicial custody till April 11, it added.
