Imphal, November 29 2014 :
United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF), a constituent body of UPF, welcomed the proposed visit of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to Manipur on Nov 30 .
Being a part of the Kuki revolutionary groups who have signed Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement with the Govt, the UKLF has high hope on BJP Govt at the Centre in general and PM Narendra Modi in particular for early starting of political dialogue with the Kuki revolutionary groups for bringing solution to the long pending political problems of the Kukis, a statement issued by JM Thadou, information and publicity secretary of UKLF said.
The Kuki revolutionary groups had signed peace pact with the then Congress Govt on August 22, 2008 but all glimpses of hopes and the promises made to them have yielded nothing till date, it said.
"It is our high hope that the present BJP Govt at the Centre headed by Narendraji will surely look into the matter and start the necessary steps to move forward for solution to the Kuki political problem," it added.
The UKLF also appealed to all stake holders of the society not to oppose or do anything against with the visit of the Prime Minister.
