On the charge of having nexus with KCP, father of under-trial prisoner Subol is being subjected to severe harassment every now and then by Thoubal commandos.
Nando, currently languishing in jail was once a leader of a faction of KCP.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, Thokchom (O) Indrani, mother of Nando and wife of Subol narrated that a team of Thoubal commandos took away Subol at about 1.30 am of June 16 from their Khangabok Lamlong Part III residence on the pretext of talking about some matters.
At the time, Subol was led away commandos he was wearing a khudei (loin cloth ) and a wrist watch.
But police came a fabricated report that one gun was recovered from Subol and he was a cadre of KCP, Indrani contended.
Subol is currently under the custody of Thoubal Police.
While admitting that her son Nando is languishing in jail for being an outlaw, Indrani denounced the act of harassing her whole family by Thoubal commandos just because her son worked for a rebel group.
Earlier on Sajibu Cheiraoba Day of 2010, both Subol and Indrani were arrested by police from Sajiwa Jail junction when they took some meals for their son.
The couple were slapped with NSA and they were lodged in jail for one full year.
In the meantime, Nando's younger brother was arrested and sent to jail on the charge of being a KCP cadre, and all the family member met inside jail.
Asking if any family could bear such persistent harassment, Indrani clarified that she and her family have no connections with any UG groups.
She also sought attention of the relevant Government authorities as well as human right defenders to rescue them from the alleged continuous oppression by police commandos.
Under-trial prisoner Nando (32) was arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Lungnila Elizabeth, then only 12 years old in December 2003. He was re-arrested in connection with the abduction and murder of Yengkhom Krishnadas at Lilong Chingjao in June 2009 .
