Financial Literacy Awareness campaign starts

The 2nd Phase of Financial Literacy Mass Awareness Campaign 2013 organised by Chanura Microfin Manipur has kick started with a function at the community hall of Kakwa Naorem Leikai from today.
The campaign is being held under the sponsorhsip of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) .
Chanura Microfinance Chairman Kh Yaiskul and CEO PK Khuman graced the occasion as chief guest and president respectively.
SIDBI Imphal Branch Manager SP Gangte and ICICI Prudential Rural Relationship Manager Th Shantikumar also attended the function as guests of honour.
PK Khuman while speaking at the function said that Chanura Microfinance provides financial support to people especially womenfolk in the form of small loans in low interest.
He added that his organisation also provides micro insurance policies to the loanees to reduce the burden of high interest rates of other money lenders.
The campaign would educate people on earning, saving, money management and future planning etc, he added.
PK Khuman further said that Chanura Microfinance has asssisted more than 3000 of its clients in opening zero balance bank accounts in the 1st phase of the campaign.
