Director (Posts) meets CS, Tourism Dept officials

Vinod Kumar, Director, (Posts), Manipur Division today called on O Nabakishore Singh, Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur in his chamber.
The meeting went for about an hour and various topics were discussed.
Kumar explained various social security schemes like Sukanya Sammridhi Yojana (SSY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) to the Chief Secretary and solicits his support in offering them to the Govt staff in the State.
The Chief Secretary evinced interest in the long term benefits of scheme and assured the State Government's support in all possible ways in reaching out to govt staff and people of Manipur.
Keeping in view the necessity of the matter, Nabakishore assured Kumar for all support from the Government of Manipur.
Director (Posts) intimated him that in order to deliver articles / parcels which are purchased through online portals, six motorcycles are being used along with one auto-rickshaw for heavy consignments in Imphal Head Post Office besides the usual Postmen with bicycles.
Director (Posts) also informed that a Maruti Van will also be included in the fleet of delivery vehicles.
Chief Secretary showed keen interest in the use of the Meghdoot Postcards when Director (Posts) gave him the idea of promoting the social security schemes like SSY, PMSBY and PMJJBY by printing these messages on Meghdoot postcards.
The postal director also visited the office of Secretary (Tourism) and had a lengthy discussion with Nidhi Mani Tripathi and Shyam Lal Poonia, (Director) Tourism.
They discussed about the promotion of social security schemes during the coming Sangai Festival.
Tripathi showed keen interest in 'My Stamp' initiative under which a person can get his/ her picture on a postage stamp.
Director (Posts) assured her that My Stamp will be the main attraction during the Sangai Festival and maximum people can avail these stamps with their photographs.
